Evans “Indian” Powell, 26, had been charged with assault and carrying a dangerous weapon for stabbing another man in the neck and back because he owed him $20 bucks for drugs, according to the arrest affidavit.
The victim, who is listed in stable condition, according to police, said the fight got out of hand when he saw Powell had a knife and he grabbed a wrench to protect himself.
After the victim showed up at a local hospital, police were able to track Powell down quickly and arrested him on Wednesday while he was in a car traveling down Cove Road, Stamford Police Lt. Tom Barcello said.
Powell, whose bail was reduced Thursday to $250,000 from $500,000, was arrested earlier this month for allegedly holding a knife to his girlfriend’s stomach during an arugument. He posted bond on those charges.
